The State Research and Development Museum of Architecture named after A.V.Shchusev is one of the largest scientific centers in the world for the study and popularization of architectural heritage. The Museum continues the tradition combined in 1963 by the Research Museum of Architecture of the Academy of Construction and Architecture of the USSR (established in 1934) and the Museum of Russian Architecture (established in 1945). Named after its founder and first director, the Russian and Soviet architect Alexei Shchusev.
Today, the Museum of Architecture conducts scientific research, is engaged in the storage and replenishment of collections, organizing temporary exhibitions at which it presents its richest funds.
