Museum-reserve Ostafyevo – Russian Parnassus

The Ostafyevo Museum Reserve – the Russian Parnassus – is a monument of noble culture located in New Moscow. The main house is a unique example of Russian estate architecture of the 18th–19th centuries. The historic park with its large pond and centuries-old trees is a cultural heritage site of federal significance. The estate's interiors are striking in their elegance and historical authenticity. The ceremonial halls of the main house have preserved the atmosphere of aristocratic life: high ceilings, stucco decoration, fireplaces, parquetry floors, and gilded furniture create a sense of returning to the age of classicism. Restored drawing rooms and studies are of particular interest, featuring genuine period furnishings, mirrors, chandeliers, and portraits of the estate's owners. Strolling through the enfilades, visitors can fully appreciate the harmony of architecture and interior décor characteristic of Russian estates during their golden age. The estate's history dates back to the 17th century. From the 18th century onward, it belonged to the Vyazemsky princely family and later to the Sheremetevs. From 1804 to 1816, Nikolay Karamzin lived and worked here on his «History of the Russian State». Alexander Pushkin visited three times – and it is to him that Ostafyevo owes its second name, the «Russian Parnassus». The combination of historical and literary heritage with modern infrastructure makes it possible to host high-level events in the atmosphere of an early 19th-century noble estate. Corporate meetings and strategic sessions in historic interiors, intimate gatherings, formal receptions, and gala dinners are all available.
