The State Historical Museum is Russia's national museum dedicated to the history of the country. The Museum's collection contains 5 million items and 15 million documents. The permanent exhibition covers several millennia, from the Stone Age to the late 19th century. The Museum's collection serves as the most significant resource for studying the history and culture of Russia. It also forms the basis for creating the Museum's permanent exhibition as well as various other cultural events within the Museum, which take various forms, including special excursions, immersive programs, theatrical performances and quizzes.
