We share the results of a new study of Mostourism by the results of 2022. It helps to find out the structure of routes of Russians who include Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation in one trip.

In 2022, the total number of domestic tourist trips to Moscow was 16.2 million, which is 6% more than in 2021. Of these, 77% (12.4 million trips) were on "Moscow+" composite routes, where guests visit at least one other region of the Russian Federation as part of a trip to the capital. The total increase over the previous year was 7%.

Moscow Region became the clear leader of "Moscow+" trips - 62% of all composite routes include a visit to this region.

4.6 million trips in 2022, or almost a third of all domestic tourist traffic besides Moscow+, included another region of the Russian Federation (excluding Moscow Region). The most popular "partners" are Krasnodar Krai and St. Petersburg with Leningrad Region - 8%. They are followed by Tula, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga regions - 2%.
